Coastline Housing is an independent not-for-profit housing association which owns and manages over 5,000 homes. Together with subsidiary Coastline Services they employ more than 300 people, jointly holding Investors In People Silver. The company’s purpose is to build great homes and offer great services provided by great people. The challenge faced by Coastline Housing is enormous. At 11.2 times average earnings in many areas of Cornwall, high house price rises have excluded many people from owning their own home. Thousands of families have registered for affordable rented housing in the county and many more are known to be in need. With a growing annual turnover - currently £24 million - Coastline Housing’s contribution to solving this problem and improving people’s lives continues to increase.
Coastline Housing has secured over £30m of grant funding from the Homes and Communities Agency and over £5 million from Cornwall Council to develop more than 1,000 new homes in Cornwall over the period from 2015 to 2021. They continue to be on the lookout for development sites in the county where more affordable housing could help transform and grow local communities.
